How We Work

We recruit and support local residents to be volunteer litter-pickers, providing equipment, safety information and insurance cover.

The equipment we provide to our volunteers consists of a litter picker, pair of gloves, a hi-visibility vest and an endless supply of plastic bags. We also have a number of litter-picking trolleys for those not wishing to carry their litter picking bags.

Membership is free and all the equipment is supplied. You simply have to agree to follow the Health and Safety guidelines provided.

We organise regular monthly litter picks, where volunteers meet together and focus on a particular area in and around our town.  As well as this monthly activity, we provide support to those people who want to work in the vicinity of their own home – more information about this on our “Adopt an Area” page.

We also support groups of people in adjacent Parishes who wish to set up their own Clean Team.  If you are interested to know more about setting up a Clean Team in your area then contact us through the website – see contacts page.
